The Barre Fire Department is made up of the Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, two Fire Captains, two Fire Lieutenants, thirty four firefighters, and six Jr. Auxiliary firefighters working out of two fire stations. The Department operates three pumpers, one pumper/tanker, one ladder truck, one heavy rescue, three brush trucks and one 4x4 brush truck/tanker.

The Barre Fire Department also has the capabilities of providing Rapid Intervention Team, High Angle Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Water/Ice Rescue.
